Ang video ng "The Wild Boys" ay directed by Russell Mulcahy. Ang halaga ng video ay umabot ng one million dollars. May kalakihan ang halaga noong 80's at karamihan ng mga video noon ay hindi umaabot ng ganong kataas na budget. Matindi ang mga elaborate sets na may kasamang lifelike robotic face, mga matitinding costumes, prosthetic makeup, at hinalo rin ang pinaka sopistikadong computer graphic effects ng panahon. Ginawa ni Mulcahy itong video bilang isang teaser sa pelikulang gusto niyang ipresenta sa studio, ngunit hindi natuloy and paggawa ng full-length feature.

Mapapansin mo na ang mga suot ng banda ay naimpluwensya sa clothing style ng pelikulang Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior. Nagkaroon ng chismis na naaksidente and lead singer na si Simon Le Bon habang nagsho-shooting ng isang eksena sa video, kung saan siya nakatali sa dulo ng isang windmill at binababad ang kanyang ulo sa ilalim ng tubig.
