Lotus Eaters - First Picture Of You 80's Music Video

Posted on 1:33 PM by fjtrfjf

Lotus Eaters - First Picture Of You
"Spread the calm to meet the others, pleasure fills with love 'til dawn."

Ron Ron (Hana no ko Lun Lun) Cartoon Opening Video

Posted on 1:49 PM by fjtrfjf
There was nothing like watching your favorite cartoons on a rainy afternoon after school, or waking up early to catch Saturday morning cartoons. Relive the best of '60s, '70s, and '80s cartoons with Cartoon TV Rama!

Watch video clips of opening sequences and famous scenes taken from your favorite animated shows!

Ron Ron (Hana no ko Lun Lun) (1979)

Long ago, plant spirits and fairy-like creatures lived in harmony with mankind, but gradually humans began to rise toward greed and cruelty and the plant spirits immigrated to another world they dubbed the "Flower Star". However, their legacy remained in people who truly knew the meaning of love and kindness. A talking dog and cat pair, Nubo and Cato, were sent to Earth to find one such person to find a magical flower, the symbol of the Flower Star's ruling family, so that a new ruler could ascend the throne.

In France they meet LunLun, a young orphan who lives with her grandparents who own a flower shop. In Lunlun's 15th birthday party, they ask Lunlun to join them, and she accepts. They travel all over Europe in search of the flower, helping people every step of the way.

Lunlun, Nubo and Cato are followed by a bumbling pair of villains, the selfish fairy Togenishia and her servant Boris, who want to steal the flower and rule the Flower Star. Whenever Lunlun and her friends attempt to help people, Togenishia and Boris try to get them back on the road by force, only to fail. They're also aided by Serge, a mysterious photographer who gives the people Lunlun helps packets of flower seeds which symbolize the lesson they've learned in the "language of flowers." For instance, thistles, which signify independence, when the son of a farmer vows to follow his own dreams and leave home.

These people all send flower seeds to Lunlun's grandfather, and in the end the magical flower is found growing in his garden from the kindness of all the people. The photographer turns out to be the prince of the Flower Star, but secedes the throne to his younger brother so he can live on Earth and marry Lunlun.

Lunlun is gifted at the start of the series with a magical pin from the King of the Flower Planet. This pin, when a flower is reflected in its mirror gives Lunlun a new outfit fit for the purpose, such as mountain climbing. About halfway through the series, the pin is broken when Lunlun falls from a branch overhanging a waterfall whilst trying to attract attention after being caught in the Dark Wind, Togenishia's main form of attack). Whilst she is lost in the river, a new pin is given to her in the shape of the royal crest, with the warning that if it is ever lost of broken, her life on Earth will end and she will be unable to return to the Flower Planet. The words to activate this pin are "Fu Flay Lu Fey Lora".

Sine Nostalgia: Napakasakit, Kuya Eddie 1986

Posted on 1:23 PM by fjtrfjf
Nostalgia Manila in cooperation with Sari-Saring Sineng Pinoy proudly presents, Sine Nostalgia! Featuring movie critiques and reviews of the most memorable Filipino movies of the 70's and 80's by the top authority in reviewing nostalgic films, Jojo Devera. Learn about that films that shaped Filipino Pop Culture, and the movies that left their mark in Philippine cinema history.

O Anong Sakit, KUYA EDDIE

Dekada '80.

Season 1 Opening Version 1

Season 1 Opening Version 2

Punky Brewster (1984)

Penelope "Punky" Brewster (played by Soleil Moon Frye) is a warm, funny and bright girl, abandoned by her parents. Punky's father walked out on her family when she was 2. Several years later, Punky was abandoned by her mother who took her to a Chicago supermarket and disappeared. Punky was alone with her only companion, and faithful dog, Brandon. Afterwards, Punky discovered a vacant apartment in a local building.

The building was managed by photographer Henry Warnimont (George Gaynes), an old widower. Punky quickly became friends with Cherie Johnson (Cherie Johnson), a young girl who lived upstairs in Henry's building with her grandmother Betty Johnson (Susie Garrett). Once Henry discovers Punky in the empty apartment adjacent his, he hears her story. The relationship between the two blossoms, despite red tape from social workers, who ultimately rally to Henry's side, and he becomes Punky's foster father, and later adopts her.

Her other friends are geeky Allen Anderson (Casey Ellison) and stuck-up rich girl Margaux Kramer (Ami Foster).

Are you a Pinoy Blogger? Get featured as a Nostalgia Bloggista! Not only are you sharing your wonderful memories of the '70s and '80s, but you also get a free link back! This is a great way to introduce your blog and get a lot of exposure! Just send me an email, write "Nostalgia Bloggista" on the subject line, and you'll soon be featured here on Nostalgia Bloggista!

Name: Ivan Henares
Blog: http://www.ivanhenares.com

1. Where did you grow up, and what made that place special?
I grew up in a private subdivision in Sucat, right beside Laguna de Bay. Like all subdivisions in the south, we were far from civilization then. The place was special since the community was tightly-knit where everyone knew each other and the breeze from the lake, especially in the cold months, was very refreshing.

2. What was your favorite tv show, cartoon, or children's show growing up? What did you like about these shows that made them your favorite?
I watched the non-stop cartoons on Saturday mornings (Voltes V, He-Man, G.I. Joe, Thundercats, Smurfs, Astroboy, Transformers, Macross, etc.), all those dubbed Japanese series every afternoon (Shaider, Bio-man, etc.), as well as Ghost Busters every Friday night. There was Batibot too. But I remember Sesame Street the most. I guess it was the children's show which made the biggest impact on the 80s generation.

3. Favorite music group or artist? Most memorable song?
I think I have tapes of MC Hammer and Vanilla Ice. But I was not that into music.

4. Share with our readers one of your fondest memories of growing up.
Weekends with my family at Quad; playing patintero, luksong baka, and tumbang preso in the street or syato and agawan "base" in school; picking aratilis fruits as we walked around the village; getting addicted to Atari and Family Computer, and so much more.

5. What do you miss from back then that's not available today?
Car rides from Sucat to the Ateneo via EDSA without flyovers in just 45 minutes. I also miss Horlicks! That's why I make sure to buy some when I'm in Singapore and Malaysia.
